Our truck is a 2008 Chevy 3500HD single cab with 11'
Layton Truck Equipment flat bed and gooseneck hitch. 8300# with
tools, fuel, and two riders. 12K GVWR, 23.5K GCWR.
We pull a: 2009 Peterson Industries Excel 33RSE RT, with
an Anderson Ranch gooseneck adapter. 14K full loaded for
full-timing, 15K GVWR, 19K GCWR (w/boat hitch).
Peterson Industries has okayed a gooseneck hitch adapter
to be used on models 33' or shorter and 2008 or newer. We desire a
5W hitch, but so far cannot find a 5W hitch less than 12" tall for
our 42" high flatbed (40" compressed w/5er) that works with the
4 1/2" deep gooseneck well where our 2 5/16" ball is located.
Ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We are currently researching the purchase of a HDT in the near future that
will round out our full-timing requirements for hauling a Smart Car and a
heavy 5er of which we will then be changing our domicile to SD.
